Her nimble, country-tinged folk-pop has received popular and critical acclaim in Sweden and abroad.David and the Citizens is the Malmö-based project of David Fridlund, whose songs speak earnestly of the great subjects in life – love, loss, and despair – through buoyant melodies and beautifully crafted pop songs.The Faintest Ideas is an indie rock band from the same Göteborg scene as Love Is All. They have a rough and jangly lo-fi sound, often kept to a two-minute format, and were recently signed to Portland's Magic Marker label.Tobias Fröberg is a songwriter who has collaborated with Ane Brun and whose vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar evoke the sounds of a young Paul Simon. Frida Hyvönen is another favorite of the Stockholm indie scene, a singer and songwriter who has perfected her own vein of melodramatic, fragile yet edgy piano pop.Johnossi is a straight-ahead rock'n'roll outfit comprised of two best friends from Stockholm, John and Ossi, who play electric guitar and drums.Lo-Fi-Fnk is a duo from Stockholm recently setting dancefloors on fire with Daft Punk-inspired electro-pop and touring internationally with Simian Mobile Disco.Loney, Dear is the musical vehicle of Swedish multi-instrumentalist Emil Svanängen. The experimental indie ensemble crafts brittle pop melodies and subdued arrangements with voices, horns and strings.Mando Diao is a mod rock quartet with tight riffs and propulsive melodies, channeling the self-assured swagger and immediate urgency of 60s garage bands.Peter Bjorn and John recently catapulted into the international spotlight with their third album, Writer's Block, and the indie anthem "Young Folks," featuring vocals by Victoria Bergsman of the Concretes.Kristoffer Ragnstam is an artist, producer, songwriter and instrument collector who defies stereotypes, mixing a myriad of styles to define his own distinct pop sound.
