The Crown Princess is a story about political intrigue, the use – and abuse – of the media, and what really goes on in the corridors of power. But most of all, it is the story of a modern woman who must struggle to combine family life with a career in the spotlight.
Charlotte Ekeblad – thirty-something and married with two kids – is at a crossroads in her life. Having abandoned a successful career to move to Uganda, where her husband has been stationed, she receives an unexpected offer she cannot refuse: a minister post in the new Swedish government. Faced with a host of new challenges, scrutinized by the media and pressured from every angle, she begins to reassess her priorities.Alexandra Rapaport stars in the leading role, supported by an eminent cast of Suzanne Reuter, Reine Brynolfsson, Ulf Friberg and Kenneth Milldoff. The Crown Princess is directed by Kathrine Windfeld, with screenplay by Sara Heldt and Pia Gradvall.
