Tracing Your Swedish Ancestry

The Consulate General of Sweden in New York offers a free 40-page genealogy reference guide, written by Nils William Olsson.

The booklet has been revised several times since the first edition in 1963, and has enjoyed wide circulation, particularly in North America.  As the popularity and enthusiasm for tracing one's ancestry has grown and the internet has revolutionized the way we conduct research, the guide was updated to include web-based resources.

We are greatly indebted to James E. Erickson, Ph.D., Normandale Community College, Bloomington, MN, and editor of the journal Swedish American Genealogist for his efforts in preparing the latest edition.
