Mr Chairman,
I have the honour to speak on behalf of the European Union.
It is with great satisfaction that we now have taken action on this long list of reports of the Office of Internal Oversight Services, some of which were issued five years ago. Many delegations, including those of the European Union, have, despite serious concerns, shown great flexibility. Many of these concerns have been addressed in the resolution before us. It was therefore the understanding of the European Union, when joining consensus, that the future reports of the Office of Internal Oversight Services would naturally be in accordance with inter alia that resolution.
A special thanks to our distinguished vice-Chairman, the tireless co-ordinator of this item, Mr. Collen Kelapile of Botswana. We congratulate the Committee on this truly co-operative effort.
