Anne Sofie von Otter

Grammy-nominated Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter is one of the finest singers of her generation, she's renowned for her diversity and artistry. Her high-profile career, spanning more than three decades, has seen her perform at the world's most important venues and festivals, and produce an unrivalled and multi-award-winning discography. An ever-evolving repertoire has played a key role in sustaining her international reputation as an operatic force. From an initial reputation built on the principle roles of Mozart, Handel and Strauss, recently–added roles include Brangäne, Baba the Turk, Didon and Waltraute. 

Bengt Forsberg is one of Sweden's leading pianists. He has become known for his wide repertoire and his constant interest in finding neglected music. Forsberg may be the most esteemed and in-demand Swedish accompanists. Among the artists he regularly accompanies are cellist Mats Lidström and violinist Nils-Erik Sparf. With Anne Sofie von Otter he has maintained a long-standing partnership resulting in many recordings, including a Gramophone "Record of the Year" Award for 1995 for their program of songs of Edvard Grieg.

Concert in the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater on March 4at 7:30pm in recital with Swedish pianist Bengt Forsberg.

They will perform works by Swedish composers A.F. Lindblad, W. Stenhammar, and Sigurd von Koch; Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg; as well as Debussy and others.
