The Raoul Wallenberg Calendar 2013
The birthday of Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat missing since 1945, was celebrated worldwide throughout 2012. Wallenberg is remembered for rescuing from the Holocaust thousands of Jews in Budapest during WWII.
As part of the Wallenberg Year’s celebration, a calendar has been issued. The calendar commemorates 365 people characterized by exceptional valour and moral courage, with Poles Irena Sendlerowa, Maksymilian Kolbe, Janusz Korczak, Lech Walęsa and Anna Walentynowicz among others.
