Christer Ågren (Sweden) - Executive Vice President, Confederation of Swedish Enterprises
Christer Ågren is the current Executive Vice President of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises (Svenskt Näringsliv), a position he has held since 2008. He has been a prominent member of the Swedish enterprise sphere for many years. Between 1993 and 2008 he held several different positions in Stora Enso, the fifth largest forestry- and paper manufacturer in the world, and was serving on the company’s Executive Management Group 1999-2008, and has also been serving on the board of the Swedish Forest Industries Federation.
Other companies he has worked for include Ericsson, SAS and ITT Flygt. He has mainly been concerned with questions regarding HR. He was Executive Vice President of HR and IT at Stora Enso when he left for the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises, which is the largest business federation in Sweden, representing 49 member organizations and 60,000 member businesses. He was born in 1955 and holds a degree in business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.
