Britta Lejon (Sweden) - chairman of ST, president EPSU-NEA (National European Administration) Standing Committee
Britta Lejon is currently the chairman of ST, the Swedish Union of Civil Servants, the largest union of civil servants in Sweden. She is also the president of the Standing Committee of the National and European Administration (NEA) of the EPSU, the European Federation of Public Service Unions.
In 1998 she became Minister for Democracy in Sweden in the Social democratic government, and has also been Minister for Consumer and Youth Affairs. Between 2008 and 2011 she was on the board of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA). She was born in 1964 and she has been an active civil servant since 1987 and served as member of the Swedish parliament 2002-2006. That same year she began serving in the parliament she was named to be a “Global Leader of Tomorrow” at the World Economic Forum. She has been serving as chairman of ST since 2008, where she represents 90,000 union members and issues close to her heart includes the right to unionize as well as salary issues. She has studied at Stockholm University and Lund University.
