Outline for the event

Sweden: Culinary Yours is an integrated part of the campaign where Sweden is highlighted as an upcoming culinary nation. Sweden has a lot to offer as regards innovation when it comes to food culture as well as unique natural conditions for the production of high-quality food products. The purpose of this event is to create awareness of the Swedish food traditions and the opportunities as regards Swedish exports.

We believe that the export, tourism and the promotion of Swedish culture goes hand in hand, why this event primarily focus on Sweden as a culinary nation but also on Swedish culture in more general terms. The main objective with "Sweden: Culinary yours" is to establish a contact between Swedish food producers and Dutch businesses and to raise awareness of the generous possibilities the Swedish food culture has to offer. It should also be added that the event has been sponsored by Swedish companies, making "Sweden: Culinary Yours" possible. Programme

The event will commence at 11:30 on Tuesday the 6th of March, after which Swedish food suppliers present their products. This will be followed by a spectacular showkitchen, where the much-credited Swedish chef mr Leif Mannerström will be cooking live together with the executive chef of Amstel Hotel, mr Rogér Rassin. Mrs Ewa Björling, the Swedish Minister for Trade, will open the event and join the chefs in the showkitchen. A matchmaking event will take place shortly after, and later a dinner for the evening will be held, starting at 18:30.

About the chefs

Mr Leif Mannerström is one of Swedens most famous chefs and has won many prestigeous awards. He has received the City of Gothenburgs Cultural Award & Badge of Merit in 1999 and been the chosen winner of "The Chefs of the Chefs" three times, most recently in 2007. He has also run the Michelin-stared restaurant "Sjömagasinet" in Gothenburg between 1994 and 2010.

Mr Mannerström will during the day be working together with the talented chef Mr Rogér Rassin. He began his career in 1991 at restaurant de Winselerhof in Landgraaf. Since then he has worked in many well-renowned restaurants, eventually being awarded a Michelin star in 2002. He was appointed Executive Chef of the Amstel Hotel in April last year.   

Gourmet dinner

The events in the afternoon will be followed up by a gourmet dinner composed and prepared by Mr Mannerström and Mr Rassin. The Swedish Ambassador Mr. Håkan Emsgård will host the dinner and the Swedish Minister for Trade will hand out the Swedish Chamber of Commerce Export Prize. As regards the entertainment, we are delighted to present Daniel Adams-Ray. Daniel is a very talented and popular artist in Sweden and will, along with his band, perform after the dinner.

In conclusion

"Sweden: Culinary Yours" will be a glamorous event where Swedish food producers will be introduced to the Dutch market. It will work as a bridging event and hopefully encourage a mutually succesfull exchange between representatives from both Sweden and the Netherlands.
