Ambassador Wernstedt took up his post in Iran four years ago. Before Tehran he was ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo for a period of four years, 2003-2007. He has also been posted - apart from Stockholm - in Paris, Brussels, Bonn and New Delhi.
Ambassador Wernstedt is 66 years, married with two grown up sons.
