Swedish Asylum and Migration Minister visits Armenia and Georgia
The Swedish Minister of Asylum and Immigration of Sweden, Mr. Tobias Billström, visited Armenia and Georgia on 6-7 September.
Mr. Billström participated in the conference initiated by the Swedish –Polish twinning project, which is aimed at improving the migration process in Armenia and customizing the Armenian legislation to that of the EU.
The Minister held high official meetings with Foreign Minister of Armenia, Mr.Edward Nalbandyan and Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, the Minster of Territorial Administration, Mr. Armen Gevorgyan.
Mr. Billström's program in Georgia was busy with meetings with the following representatives of the Georgian Government: State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Mr. Tornike Gordadze; First Deputy Minister of Reintegration, Mr. Irakli Porchkhidze; Deputy Ministers of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees, Ms. Tamar Martiashvili and Mr.Valeri Kopaleishvili.
Apart from the abovementioned meetings, Mr, Billström, together with representatives of UNHCR and MRA, had the opportunity to visit the IDP camp in Tserovani.
