International Women's Day
A number of activities are taking place in Georgia during this week to mark the International Women’s Day on March 8. With Swedish support, UN Women is arranging number of activities in Tbilisi and the regions of Kakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.
Activities range from rugby celebrities discussing violence against women and girls with teenage boys, as well as the photo exhibition “The Women’s Question in Georgia on the Verge of the 19-20th Centuries” to be displayed in the parliament in Kutaisi on March 7 to aspecially written play on the topic of violence against women and girls. The play is staged in cooperation with Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre and will be presented in Telavi, Zugdidi and finally in the Marjanisvhili Theatre in Tbilisi on Saturday.
