Three free concerts in Tallinn!

The Home Guard Band of Blekinge is one of Sweden’s 24 Home Guard Bands. These bands include about 1 000 musicians. The Home Guard Band of Blekinge started in 1982 and includes 40 leisure musicians who, during professional management, rehearse 40 weeks a year and perform 15 concerts and music marches. Among the missions are the changing of the guards at the Royal Castle in Stockholm, performances abroad - last time in Stralsund -, military ceremonies, city marches in nearby cities, concerts at different kinds of festivals and of course national celebrations.

The band is organised as a company in the Home Guard of Blekinge and is thus supported with vehicles, barracks, uniforms etc.

The Home Guard Band of Blekinge will visit Tallinn during the 15th to the 17th of September this year.

On the 15th of September at 5 pm a march will take place between Freedom Square and Town Hall Square. At Town Hall Square a short concert will be played with the band standing.

On the 16th of September at 6 pm a joint concert will be held with EDL Tallinn District Band. Location is Salme Cultural Center. The bands will have their own repertoire but will perform four pieces of music together, two from each country.

On the 17th of September at 12 o’clock the Home Guard Band will take part in a service in the Swedish Church in Tallinn. A number of hymns and sacred music pieces will be played.
