The Embassy of Sweden in cooperation with the Swedish Institute and The Projector presented the second edition of the Swedish Film Festival on Feb 16-19, 2017.

This year we showcased the work of contemporary Swedish master, Roy Andersson with five of his films including the highly award winning film, A Pigeon sat on a branch reflecting existence.

The Embassy also invited Mr. Johan Carlsson to Singapore, who is a line-producer from Studio 24 and has worked together with Roy Andersson with most of his movies. Mr. Carlsson also held an inspiring Q & A after the showing of The Pigeon sat on a branch reflecting on existence. He also conducted a workshop at the Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at NTU and shared he knowledge about filmmaking to film students.

Swedish furniture company, Möbler sponsored the event by decorating the venue with their signature antique Swedish furniture.

In addition to the Roy Anderson films, we also showed the feel good film Nice People, a real-life story about Somali Bandy team. Furthermore we presented the movie We are the best, by director Lukas Moodysson, the film is about three young girls in the 70s Stockholm. Lastly, we also screened a documentary about divorce called The Separation.
