About Business Sweden

Business Sweden’s purpose is to help every Swedish company to reach their full international potential. Business Sweden also strive to attract foreign direct investments in Sweden. This means to identify and showcase competency centers – clusters of companies, industries and skills on the Swedish market.

Business Sweden offers Swedish companies strategic advice and hands-on support. Business Sweden is owned by the Swedish Government and the industry, a partnership that provides access to contacts and networks at all levels. Business Sweden was founded on the first of January, 2013, by a merger of the Swedish Trade Council (Exportrådet) and Invest Sweden. The Swedish government is represented by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the private business by the Swedish Foreign Trade Association.

Business Sweden has Swedish and foreign consultants in 50 of the world's most promising markets. The offices are usually located in the country's capital, or its financial centre. Business Sweden has a close collaboration with Swedish embassies, consulates and chambers of commerce throughout the world. This extensive global presence gives unique market expertise, resources to find international business opportunities and to assist Swedish export companies to be in place.

Business Sweden is working with a national network of companies, authorities and organizations, which are specific for various industries. They are able to do this through a number of Swedish export concepts including export counselling, skills development, market research, missions, fairs and business matchmaking. There are different conditions for export in various industries and sometimes there are different requirements that have to be fulfilled before the company can make a successful commitment. For some of Sweden's major industries, Business Sweden work with concepts such as Try Swedish! (food) and SymbioCity (ICT, energy and environmental technology, urban planning) as well as SymbioCare (Health Care and Life Sciences).
