It is fairly easy to register a new company in Singapore. All businesses must be registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and all registrations and fillings are done online via ACRA's electronic filing system - BizFile.
It is advisable to engage the professional services of a firm of solicitors, auditors or corprorate secretaries to attend to the formalities of business registration. There is no restriction on the type of business that may be set up, but some businesses eg. financial service companies, do require special licenses.
There are different business entities to consider, depending on the intention of the company. The most common company form is a Private Limited company (comparable to the Swedish term "Aktiebolag").
However, if the purpose is to explore the Singaporean market, it is a good start to register as a Representative Office. All applications should be made to International Enterprise Singapore.
