TALK: An afternoon with Vikings at ROM in Toronto

Join Charlotte Hedenstierna-Jonson from the Swedish History Museum for a fascinating look at archaeology from around the Viking world.

Take a step back in time to the age of Vikings and explore the extraordinary findings from the excavation of the first Viking boat burial discovered on the UK mainland. Revealing powerful connections to places across the Viking world and distant past, this rare site featured a multitude of grave objects commonly associated with a high status burial. By using traditional excavating techniques – namely, digging – combined with cutting edge archaeological science, we are provided a window into the life and biography of a Viking who lived more than 1000 years ago.
