Home (Hemma) at EU Film Festival in Toronto
The European Union Film Festival in Toronto runs November 14-28 at The Royal. This year Sweden is presenting the film Home (Hemma) by Maximilian Hult.
Lou is a super bright woman, but socially awkward – to the point of being neurotic. She’s a woman who speaks her mind, which is not to everyone’s taste. Led to believe that her maternal grandparents are long dead, she is shocked one day when she is told that her grandfather has just died and that her grandmother is still alive. This sets her off on a journey to a small village where she gets to know her mischievous grandmother Frida, a misplaced boy Tom and most importantly Henrik, who promptly falls head over heels in love with her. Lou’s journey is not to change, but to learn to love and find a home in those that love her.
