SUMMIT: Conference on CSR in Toronto March 22

The Swedish Government’s Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility, Diana Madunic, will be a keynote speaker at the Conference Board of Canada’s CSR Summit at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre on March 22.

In the plenary session, titled “Towards a Sustainable Future: Leading by Sweden's Example”, Ambassador Madunic will discuss lessons learned and best practice examples that have made Sweden a pioneer within the field of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability. In 2013, Sweden topped the RobecoSAM Country Sustainability Ranking, which ranks 59 countries based on 17 environmental, social and governance indicators. Many of today's Swedish companies are at the forefront in integrating a sustainable approach to business in their strategies and daily management.

IKEA Canada President, Stefan Sjöstrand, will discuss how IKEA is focusing on economizing with resources to create a better everyday life for Canadians. The well-known Swedish company has brought its sustainability goals to Canada as part of its sustainability strategy, People & Planet Positive. Opening remarks for the session will be delivered by Sweden’s Ambassador to Canada, Per Sjögren.

The Conference Board of Canada is hosting a major two-day event to provide corporate responsibility professionals with the information and insights they need to improve their programs, deliver meaningful impact to communities, and enhance the triple bottom line.
