Internship at the Consulate
The Consulate General offers three internships - in communications, cultural affairs, and commercial affairs - during the spring and fall respectively.
The application deadline for the spring internships has passed. The listing for the fall (2018) internships will be posted on the Consulate's website, Facebook and Twitter profiles in the spring. Applicants are welcome to submit their applications as soon as the listing is posted. Please note that we do not accept applications at any other period of time.
Internships at the Consulate General are unpaid and the Consulate cannot offer any reimbursement for housing expenses. However, the Consulate can refer to available grants and other resources as well as provide housing tips.
Swedish citizenship is a requirement and you must be completely fluent in Swedish and English. You must be enrolled at a college or university, as well as be insured through your school or on your own. Swedish students enrolled at universities/colleges abroad are also welcome to apply. If the internship does not earn you credit, you must provide a note from the university stating that the internship would be relevant for your coursework. A background check, which includes checking criminal history records, will be conducted.
