Internship at the Consulate
The Consulate offers three internships - in communications, cultural affairs, and commercial affairs - during the spring and fall respectively. We are unfortunately not able to offer any internship during the summer.
The application deadline for the fall internships has passed and we only process applications that are submitted before the deadline. If you have applied for a fall internship position and have not heard from us by March 22, please be informed that we have proceeded with other applicants.
The listing for the spring (2018) internships will be posted in the fall. Please note that we only accept applications when an internship position is posted.
Internships at the Consulate General are unpaid and the Consulate cannot offer any reimbursement for housing expenses. However, the Consulate can refer to available grants and other resources as well as provide housing tips.
Swedish citizenship is a requirement and you must be completely fluent in Swedish and English. You must be enrolled at a college or university, as well as be insured through your school or on your own. Swedish students enrolled at universities/colleges abroad are also welcome to apply. If the internship does not earn you credit, you must provide a note from the university stating that the internship would be relevant for your coursework. A background check, which includes checking criminal history records, will be conducted.
