The conference was arranged by the Malonda Foundation (Fundação Malonda), which is supported by Sweden and based in Lichinga, Niassa. Malonda works to facilitate contact and information between potential investors and the Niassa province in order to contribute to an increased economic development in the province.

Several province representatives were present in Maputo together with Malonda to inform about the resources and assets in Niassa and the economic potential of the province. Veronica Langa, the permanent secretary of the Niassa government, said that Niassa has, among other things, great resources when it comes to tourism, minerals, forestry and wildlife, and agriculture, and invited all interested entrepreneurs to come explore these possibilities.
