You must have a valid UK Residence permit to apply in London.

Applying via VFS

The quickest and easiest way is to apply for a visa at the Swedish Visa Application Centre, which is run by VFS. This means you do not have to visit the Swedish embassy in person.

Applying at the Embassy

The Swedish Embassy can also receive a very limited number of applicants. You must make an appointment in writing. This is what you do:

1. Prepare the documentation

2. Make an appointment
To make an appointment at the Swedish embassy, you have to apply in writing with a copy of your passport, UK permit and self addressed stamped envelope.

3. Pay the application fee
You can pay cash or by card. We do not take American Express.

4. When you come for your appointment.
Bring the completed application form, all the required documents to the embassy. If you do not have all the documents with you, there is a risk that your application will be rejected.  During the visit, you may be required to answer some additional questions.

All family members must be present – including children – when applying for the visa.

5. Wait for the decision 
When you present your application, you are told when you can collect the decision and your passport or pay for postal service.
