By simply changing their habits, families save a minimum of 15% on household expenses! Check out the benefits of Swedish-supported “Sustainable Household” pilot educational and awareness programme in Ivano-Frankivsk:

“Sustainable Household”, a pilot programme in Ivano-Frankivsk spanning on average over 8 weeks, is one of the Sweden-supported educational projects of “Teachers for Democracy and Partnership’ CSO. Over 3 thousand Ukrainian families have by now benefitted from the pilot in the past year and a half.

The economic benefit for families who participated in the project is at hand:
- Electricity savings – by 18%
- Water use for household – by 17%
- Less consumption and disposal of waste – by 28%

On average, family budget savings by participating families have topped 15%. The recipe is simple - changing one’s habits to more rational ones. In addition to the economic effect, participating families have started a healthier and eco-friendlier lifestyle, while introducing other families to the benefits of responsible and eco-friendly living and solving local community issues.

The programme is implemented within “Education for Sustainable Development in Action” project in partnership with Global Action Plan international NGO (Sweden) with support from Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
