Residence Permit for Students

If you are planning to study in Sweden and stay more than 3 months, you will need a residence permit. The permit must have been approved before your arrival in Sweden.

 

Please call the Embassy switchboard +62 21 2553 5900 to make appointment and to double check the current administration fee and bank account information.

When applying for Residence Permit, please submit 2 copies of the documents listed below.

Note : All Documents in bahasa should be accompanied by an English or Swedish translation


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Student (please visit Migration Board’s website to have a complete information and to download the form : migrationsverket.se)
1. Application for residence permit for students and doctoral students form
2. Recent coloured picture, 4x6 cm, white background
3. Original passport 
4. Copy passport (ID page) of the applicant
5. Copy of Acceptance Letter from the University in Sweden
6. Scholarship document, if any
7. Copy of bank statement. 
    The minimum fund in your bank should be :
    the length of study (in month) x SEK 7.300
8. Medical Travel Insurance, minimum coverage is € 30.000.  Destination of the insurance must be Schengen Countries (needed for study less than or maximum a year, if more than a year not needed)
9. Reference Letter from the company/school, if the applicant is an employee or a student


Student’s family member :
1. Application by co-applicants to students/doctoral students (DB) form
2. Recent coloured picture, 4x6 cm, white background
3. Original passport 
4. Copy passport (ID page) of the applicant
5. Copy of Acceptance Letter from the University in Sweden of the spouse
6. Scholarship document of the spouse, if any
7. Copy of bank statement. 
    For spouse : SEK 3.500 / month
    For children : SEK 2.100 / month
8. Medical Travel Insurance, minimum coverage is € 30.000.  Destination of the insurance must be Schengen Countries (needed for study less   than or maximum a year, if more than a year not needed).
9. Reference Letter from the company/school, if the applicant is an employee or a student

Administration fee for Residence Permit

The fee in Indonesian rupiah (IDR) is not a fixed amount, since the amount in IDR is affected by the exchange rates. As of 14 June 2011, the fees are the following:

- 18 years old and up: SEK 1 000 / IDR 1 350 000
- under 18 years old: SEK 500 / IDR 670 000
- family connection, 18 yr & up: SEK 1 500 / IDR 2 000 000
- family connection, under 18 yr: SEK 750 / IDR 1 000 000

The payment should be made through the Embassy's account in the PT ANZ Panin Bank:

Note that the fee is for administrative costs and will not be returned in case of rejection.
