The Government of Sweden has appointed a special coordinator, former State Secretary Mats Denninger, to be the Government’s High Representative for International Environmental Technology Cooperation.
In 2011 the Swedish Government initiated an inter-ministerial secretariat for strengthened environmental technology cooperation with China, India and Russia. The aim is to encourage a concerted effort to implement existing bilateral agreements between Sweden and the three countries on environmental cooperation.
The secretariat works closely with cities, businesses and organisations to facilitate contacts between businesses and between business and public sector. The aim is to strenghten the relations and increase the Swedish export of environmental technology, energy efficiency and infrastructure for sustainable urban development.
