How to apply if you live in Malawi
The quickest way is to apply online. After applying, you attend the required interview and present your documents at the Swedish Embassy in Harare.

Once you have applied online and subsequently received an instruction to make an appointment, you contact the Swedish Embassy in Harare.

You can also present your application at the Swedish Embassy in Harare on a paper form, but that means you will have to wait longer for a decision. To make an appointment to present an application on a paper form and do the interview, you contact the Embassy.
Resident permit card
If you have been granted a residence permit and need a visa to enter Sweden, which is the case for citizens of Malawi, you must arrange for the card before your departure. This means you visit the Swedish Embassy in Harare to provide your biometric data (photographing, fingerprints and signature). You make an appointment to provide this data by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or telephoning the Swedish Embassy in Harare.
It can take up to four weeks for the residence permit card to be prepared and delivered to the embassy. Once the card has arrived there, the Swedish Embassy in Harare will send it to the Norwegian Embassy in Lilongwe, where you can collect it. You need to pay a courier fee.
