Applying via VFS Global
The quickest and easiest way is to apply for a visa at the Swedish Visa Application Centre, which is run by VFS Global. This means you do not have to visit the Swedish Embassy in person.
How you proceed is described step-by-step at the VFS Global website: https://www.vfsglobal.se/Vietnam/index.html
Applying at the Embassy
If you cannot or do not wish to apply via the Swedish Visa Application Center, you present your application forms and other documents in person at the Swedish Embassy. You have to make an appointment, and the processing period may be longer. How to proceed:
1. Prepare the documentation
Check which documents and personal information you need. Read more under ‘Required documents’.
2. Make an appointment
To make an appointment at the Swedish Embassy, you contact VFS Global free of charge.
Ho Chi Minh: 0839390891
The Embassy is open for presentation of visa applications on Wednesdays 09.00 – 11.00.
3. Pay the application fee
If you are applying directly at the Embassy, you must pay before your visit.
The fee can be paid at any of the ANZ Bank branches in Vietnam.
Account name: Embassy of Sweden - UM
Account number: 6143432
Reed more under 'Fees'.
4. Visit the Embassy
Bring the completed application form, all the required documents and a receipt of payment to the Embassy at the appointed time. If you do not have all the documents with you, there is a risk that your application will be rejected. During the visit, you will need to register your 10 finger prints and your personal digital photo. In addition, you may be required to answer some additional questions or hand in additional documents.
All family members who apply at the same time – including children – must visit the Embassy.
You can find the address of the Embassy under ‘Contact’ in the menu on the left.
5. Wait for the decision
It usually takes 15 days to get a decision. When the decision has been made, you can collect the decision and your passport at the Embassy.
