Fees

You pay a fee for your residence permit application. The money is not refunded if your application is rejected.

Fee for residence permits for studies

Adults: SEK 1 000*

Children under 18: SEK 500*

Fee for family members

Adults: SEK 1 000*

Children under 18: SEK 500*

 * The fee can be paid in BDT, please check the exchange rate as it may vary.

Payment

If you are applying online, you pay with a credit card or a bank card.

If you fail to submit an application for a residence permit on-line you may submit your application in person at after making an appointment at the Embassy. You can contact the Embassy for your appointment by phone at +880 2 55 66 8525 (Sunday-Thursday 3pm-4p) or via e-mail: ambassaden.dhaka-visum@gov.se.

After getting an appointment from the Embassy, you need to deposit the appropriate application fees by visiting the Standard Chartered Bank (North Gulshan Branch) and then visit the Migration Section of the Embassy at the given appointment date.

Exemptions

Some people are not required to pay for their applications, including the following:

  • Students on scholarships from Sida or another Swedish organisation or international organisation, such as the EU or UNICEF.

Study fees

You may also be required to pay a fee for your studies. This is decided by each respective university or university college. Contact the school concerned for information.
