One purpose of this website is to provide news and information about Sweden, that we hope, will be contributing to a further deepening and widening of the links between Bangladesh and Sweden. Another purpose is to provide advice and information that we believe could be useful for Swedish citizens residing in or visiting Bangladesh. Our ambition is to keep the information up-to-date and responsive to the needs of those visiting our website. The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka is representing Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Slovenia in visa cases.
Opening hours for the Migration Section
Schengen visa applications for Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Poland: Sundays and Wednesdays, submission between 9 am – 11 am. Maximum 40 applications per day. You can also apply online for visas to Sweden. Please see "visit Sweden" for further information.
Schengen visa applications for Belgium, Latvia, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Slovenia: Tuesdays, submission between 1 pm – 3 pm (maximum 30 applications) and Thursdays, submission between 9 am-11 am (maximum 40 applications).
Residence/ work permit applications for Sweden, Denmark and Norway: Mondays between 9 am-11 am (maximum 40 applications).
Collection of application forms (not for information): Wednesdays: 1 pm - 3 pm
Please observe that all visa applications are handled and decided by sent out Swedish Migration officers/supervisors. The Embassy does not accept any kind of cash payments. All application fees shall be paid to Standard Chartered Bank, read more under Fees. Please contact Swedish sent out staff (ambassaden.dhaka@gov.se) at the Embassy immediately if you have been asked to pay bribes or experiencing any other forms of irregularities.
Please note that the embassy has nothing to do with sellers outside the premises of the embassy who offer services for payment. No sellers can influence either the processing period or the decision. Schengen visas for Sweden or the other countries that the Swedish Embassy represents in Dhaka can only be issued by the Embassy´s visa section. The Embassy of Sweden is also the only authority in Bangladesh issuing residence and work permit cards (UT-card). Please note that the former permit stickers to be put in passport for residence and work permit are no longer issued by Swedish authorities.
