The Embassy

Welcome to the Embassy of Sweden in Damascus, Syria. The Embassy represents Sweden in Syria and Lebanon and administers the bilateral relations with both countries.

Due to the worsened security situation in Syria, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs decided on 29 March 2012 to reduce the scope of activities and the number of staff at the Embassy of Sweden in Damascus until further notice. The Embassy is still open. The Swedish staff members are based in Beirut and the presence in Damascus is dependent on the security situation.

The Embassy does no longer have any permanent telephone or visiting hours, but can be contacted via email at ambassaden.damaskus@gov.se .
