The improvement of the investment climate, which should enable business operators to be more competitive by reducing the administrative burden, is a key priority of Swedish assistance.  In this regard, Sweden supports Moldova in reforming the inspection system, the framework for permissive documents, the tax administration, the food safety structure and the investment attraction and retention model. Special emphasis is put on institutional cooperation between Swedish and Moldovan authorities. Successful projects involving the Swedish Tax Agency and Statistics Sweden are ongoing and the Swedish Food Safety Authority is expected to complement the list in the near future.

Sweden also works directly with enterprises within some economic sectors to improve their competitiveness and their ability to adapt to the new challenges that the DCFTA brings. The programme includes especially assistance to the agriculture and ICT sectors. The range of issues covered varies from human resource development to capacity building for producers and their sectorial associations.
