The ceremony was held in Alexandria where the Ambassador also gave a speech, she stressed: "This inauguration takes place at a time when Egypt as well as the entire Arab region, is going through a very important transition. This transition is not only in politics but also in other fields such as education and research."

The cooperation between the two universities is based on, when the students graduate from Pharos University with a Degree in Engineering they will be awarded with two certificates, one from Pharos and the other from KTH.
