Conference to commemorate the memory of Raoul Wallenberg

To honor the memory of Raoul Wallenberg's actions in Budapest during World War II and to commemorate the year of Raoul Wallenberg the conference "Between Salvation and Extermination during World War II" was held in Bucharest the 12 of October 2012.

The Embassy of Sweden hosted the conference together with the Embassy of Israel, the National School of Political Science and Public Administration and the "Elie Wiesel" National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania.

Among the invited speakers were Marie Tuma Director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute in Lund, Hedi Fried psychologist and a holocaust survivor and Eli Yosef Israeli lecturer and author.

The main purpose of the conference was to remember the holocaust and allow Romanian students be inspired by Raoul Wallenberg´s actions that shows that one man can make a difference.
