Minors – extra documents
If you apply for a visa to visit Sweden as a minor, you need the documents listed below.
Anyone under 18 years of age is considered a minor. A parent/legal guardian, or a friend/relative with a power of attorney from one of the parents/guardians, must accompany the minor when submitting the application.
An authorized English translation must be attached to any document in Chinese.
You must have:
- The documents required by all visa applicants. Read more under ‘Required documents’. Visa applications for minors must be signed by their parents/guardians.
- Photocopies of the custodians’ ID cards (no translation needed).
- If the minor is travelling with both parents/guardians the original birth certificate should be shown and a photocopy submitted with the application.
- If the minor is travelling without parents/guardians you must submit a notarized and legalized document stating who the parents/guardians are, as well as a notarized and legalized letter of consent from the parents/guardians. If the minor is travelling with only one parent/guardian you must submit a notarized and legalized document stating who the parents/guardians are, as well as a notarized and legalized letter of consent from the other parent/guardian, if any.
