Watch the National Day Celebration video of 2017

Innovation, sustainability and culture were the overarching themes when 1000 people celebrated the Swedish National Day in Beijing. The Minister for Energy Ibrahim Baylan participated in the celebrations, as did the Director General of the European Affairs Department Chen Xu. Superstars Molly Sandén and Wu Xiaoyu and virtual reality innovators Bombina Bombast entertained, together with pianists Carl Petersson and Fu Xingwei.

Preparing a Toast Skagen during Swedish Gastro Weeks

During the lifestyle- and gastrodiplomatic event Swedish Gastro Weeks held in May, the invited Swedish chef Stefan Brundin showed the Embassy's Weibo followers how to prepare the classic dish Toast Skagen. Click here to watch the video:

Ambassador Anna Lindstedt introduces herself in Chinese

Since September of 2016 the Ambassador to China Anna Lindstedt has been learning Chinese. In April the Ambassador recorded a video of when she introduced herself in Chinese to the Embassy's Weibo followers. Days after the release the clip had been seen more than 120,000 times. Watch the National Day Celebration video of 2016

A sustainable society was the overarching theme when the Swedish National Day was celebrated on 6 June 2016 at the Embassy, with 2500 people on attendance. Head over to the Embassy's Youku channel to watch the video from the celebration. The event included sustainable fashion and furniture, recycling stations for clothes, solar-powered lighting, hybrid cars, locally produced food and much more.

65 years of Sino-Swedish relations

65 years ago, on 9 May 1950, Sweden became the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Watch a video greeting with Ambassador Lars Fredén and other Swedes with connection to China.

The New EU Directive on CSR Reporting

The EU issued a new directive in November 2014 requesting companies to report their policies and performance on social and environmental impact, human rights, anti-corruption and diversity.
