Minister Maria Larsson visits Thailand

H.E. Ms. Maria Larsson, Swedish Minister for Children and the Elderly, just completed a very successful visit to Bangkok. Her visit, from September 30 - October 3, was her first time in Thailand. The Swedish Minister brought with her a business delegation consisting of Swedish companies manufacturing some of the most advanced medical technology in the world.

During her visit, Ms. Maria Larsson met with the Minister for Social Development and Welfare, Mr. Santi Promphat, and with Dr. Surawit Konsomboon, the Deputy Minister for Public Health of the Royal Thai Government, as well as with representatives of the United Nations Programs and Funds and with representatives of Thai Civil Society. Dr. Surawit and Minister Larsson gave the keynote speeches at the Swedish SymbioCare Seminar at Hotel Aethas, organized by the Swedish Trade Council and SWECARE. Accompanied by the Secretary General of Swedish Save the Children, Ms. Elisabeth Dahlin, Ms. Larsson also conducted a field trip, visiting the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women and the Pakkred Reception Home for Boys in Nonthaburi.
