Required documents for Conference/Sida training course visa

Application for a visa must be submitted to the Embassy in person. Application can not be sent by e-mail, fax or regular mail. This also means that the application can not be submitted by anyone else but the applicant him- or herself.

When applying for a Conference/Sida training course visa for Sweden, you must submit all of the following documents:

Please note that all documents are required at the same time, or your application will not be accepted.

  • Application for Schengen visa, completed, signed and dated.

  • Appendix A: Questionnaire for Applicants.

  • Family details - appendix to your application.

  • Travel plan, signed and dated.

  • Passport or other travel document, valid for at least a further three (3) months after the end of the trip. Including copies of all pages of the passport that are not blank and copies of previous Schengen visas (if in another passport).
  • One (1) photograph of passport style and size (35 x 45 mm) for all applicants, including minors. Your photograph must not be older than six (6) months and must be:
    – colour photo
    – recent and of true likeness
    – showing full face
    – taken without headgear
    – head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face
    – taken against a plain, evenly lit and white background.

    Photographs that do not meet these standards will be rejected and may cause delay in processing the application.

  • Invitation from a company or organization in Sweden containing the following details about you and the conference you are attending:
     - personal particulars
     - arrival and departure
     - the purpose of your visit
     - who will support you during your stay in Sweden.

  • A copy of employment or student certificate showing that you have been given leave from your job/studies durig the period you intend to visit Sweden.

  • A copy of the conference programme or the equivalent and a copy of the list of participants.

  • A bank statement for the last six (6) months.

  • A personal travel insurance which covers costs for
    – emergency treatment by a doctor
    – urgent ambulance transportation
    – transportation back to applicant's home country if required for medical reasons.

    The insurance must cover at least 30,000 Euro and be valid in all Schengen states and cover the total length of stay.

* Please note that you have to bring the passport or other travel document in original when submitting your application at the Embassy. Iraqi citizens also have to show their original Iraqi ID card.

* All documents in Arabic must be translated into English.  No specific translator/agency is preferred by the Embassy however the Embassy will only accept translations made by authorized translators. Please note that the applicant is responsible for that the translation is correct. The Embassy is not responsible for information given by translators/agencies regarding the application process.

* All documents enclosed with the application must be in A4-format.

* More information and documents might be required by the Embassy.

* Please note that the fee must be paid in cash (Jordanian Dinars) at the time of  application and it is not refundable. 

Your entry visa must be entered in your passport before your arrival in Sweden.
