Launching of "Alexandria-City of Layers" Book on New Urban Topologies
The Swedish Institute Alexandria and Färgfabriken-Center for Contemporary Art and Architecture launched a book on New Urban Topologies "Alexandria – City of Layers" earlier today which was held at the premises of the Swedish Institute at 15:00hrs. The launch was followed by a Reception.
The book is a product of a three days workshop that was held in Alexandria in October 2011 with the main objective of introducing the concept of NEW URBAN TOPOLOGIES (NUT), where art organizations with knowledge of and interest in different urban issues and with wide social urban research were teamed up with politicians, academics, and city officials from the planning authorities, with the purpose of sharing experiences and knowledge.
During the launch, the book as well as the results from the workshop were presented and the floor was given for the reflections of the audience.
