From now on, Sida will have three organisational pillars:
- Policy, Operations and Management. Operations will assume the previous role of the Regional Departments and Policy the role of previous Thematic Departaments. The largest pillar is Operations, divided into four Depertamnets reflecting cooperation modalitiy rather than regional dimensions. The four departments are:
- Long-term Cooperation- Reform Cooperation in Europe- Conflict and post-conflict cooperation- Partnerships
A key dimension in the new field organisation is the Country Team. The team is headed by a Country Director with far-reaching decision-making and financial power, based in Stockholm or in the field office, and includes all staff resources needed to implement the country programme for each cooperation country in line with the established Development Cooperation Strategy. In many cases, there will be a Country Team responsible for several countries.
The Country Team for cooperation with Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo (ALMAKO) has just been constituted. Parts of the team including the newly appointed Country Director, Mr. Mikael Elofsson, is seen in the photo during a regional conference in Novi Sad in Serbia in early September with team building as a prominent item on the agenda.
