Visit Sweden for More than 90 Days

If you wish to stay in Sweden for more than 90 days you can either apply for a temporary Residence Permit for Visit or apply for a D-visa. Note that an application for a residence permit always is sent to the Swedish Migration Board for decision meaning that it takes longer time to process residence permits than it does to process entry visas.

D-visa
There is also a possibility to be granted a national visa for a longer period than 90 days, a D-visa, if there are special reasons. Special reasons can for example be that you need to travel to Sweden to visit your children for a period of time that exceeds 90 days in half a year. A D-visa can be granted up to a maximum of one year and gives you the right to move freely within the Schengen area.

Please see National visa (D- visa) in the right hand margin in order to view the application form.
