The Embassy of Sweden, the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, the Swedish Institute and Women Peace Makers Programme are organising a conference on women in conflict and post-conflict areas. The aim of this conference is to come up with pragmatic and doable recommendations for next year's 10th anniversary of UN SC Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
Women in War Zones
3 December 2009, Academy & Library Building, Peace Palace, The Hague
Experts representing the governments and armed forces of Sweden and the Netherlands as well as international organisations, NGOs and women’s networks active in conflict and post-conflict areas will discuss concrete examples and best practices and take stock of implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325/1820.
Invitations will be extended to government representatives, armed forces, NGO’s, aid organisations, international organisations and various networks engaged in these issues.
