The EU Common Visa Application Center in Chisinau was inaugurated on 25 April 2007. This is the first center of its kind in Europe. The Center now issues visas for Denmark, Austria, Slovenia, Sweden, Luxemburg, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary and Iceland.
Starting from October 1, 2009 the Embassy of Hungary will also start representing Finland in issuing short-term uniform visas.
