Mr President,
Allow me to extend the gratitude of Sweden to the German delegation for having participated actively in the UPR dialogue. We only take the floor since we were not able to speak during the review in February. We would like to participate with some comments, based on the outcome of the review:
Sweden thanks the government for having replied to the questions that we submitted in advance. We note in the addendum that support was given to a related recommendation on the subject of human rights aspects in the fight against terrorism. We hope it will also include how legislation is applied and implemented with regard to searches of private computers.
We noted, during the review, that considerable attention was given to the issue of integration and education. We welcome that the government gave support to the recommendations asking for measures to further promote integration and ensure that all persons enjoy the right to education, regardless of their background.
