Section Office in Chisinau, Moldova

The Section for Development Cooperation and Political Affairs in the Republic of Moldova (SDC) represents Sweden in issues related to the Swedish development cooperation with the Republic of Moldova and reports on issues related to the Swedish development cooperation and the EU programmes in Moldova.

The SDC also reports to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) on the political and economic developments in RM as well as on issues related to the political relation between the EU and RM.

During the second half of 2009, the Head of Mission and supporting staff carries out the local Swedish Presidency of the EU in Chisinau.

Visa applications

The Embassy Office in Chisinau does not deal with any visa matters. On behalf of Sweden, these are handled by The EU Common Visa Application Centre, administered by the Embassy of Hungary in Moldova.

Office hours

The SDC has the following office hours:
Monday – Thursday 09.00-18.00  (lunch break 12.00-13.00)
Friday 09.00-15.00 (no lunch break)

The office switchboard is only manned during working hours.
