Documents required to apply for a visa

Sweden is a member of Schengen. The embassy of Sweden in Riyadh handles Schengen visa applications for Sweden and - on behalf of the Finnish Embassy - for Finland (Nordic Visa Cooperation).

A valid visa issued by any other Schengen-member state can thus be used for travel to Sweden/Finland and vice-versa.

Visa applicants having Sweden or Finland as main destination on their itinerary are eligible to apply for a Schengen visiting visa at the Swedish Embassy in Riyadh.

The Embassy of Sweden in Riyadh needs up to 10 days to process a visa. Please, note that your Schengen entry visa must be entered in your passport before your arrival in Sweden.
Requirements for a Schengen visit visa:

The visa is personal and the application must therefore be handed in to the Embassy Visa Section in person by the applicant.

The Schengen visa fee must be paid to the Embassy bank account before applying for a visa. Please, see under “Application fee for Visiting Visa”.

Passport validity – minimum 3 months from the expiry date of the visa and issued within the last 10 years.

In order to apply for a Schengen visa, the applicant needs to provide the documents enumerated in this list. In individual cases, additional documents may be requested.

Presentation of the documents does not automatically lead to the issuance of a visa and possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry. The ultimate decision
regarding admission to the Schengen territory lies with the Border Authorities upon arrival.

Documents to be provided by all visa applicants:
