About the Embassy

Welcome to the web site of the Embassy of Sweden in Maputo, Mozambique.

The Embassy of Sweden in Mozambique represents the Swedish Government in The Republic of Mozambique. The Embassy's overall mission is to strengthen the relations between Sweden and Mozambique, both government to government, and between citizens, companies and organisations in the two countries.

The consular section has the responsibility to assist both Swedish citizens who are visiting Mozambique, and citizens from Mozambique who wish to visit Sweden.

The Embassy is also responsible for the development cooperation between Sweden and Mozambique, which is aimed at supporting Mozambique's reform process, reducing poverty and promoting development towards democracy and increased respect for human rights.

In the area of commerce and trade, the Embassy encourages exchanges between Sweden and Mozambique and assists companies from the two countries in finding new partners and possibilities for trade and investments.
