Visa for visiting close relatives

Visa for close relatives (spouses, children, parents, grandparents and grandchildren) who are visiting Ukrainian citizens legally residing in Sweden.

Please note that siblings are not considered as close relatives under the visa facilitation agreement and therefore are not included in the visa facilitation agreement.

• A signed and dated invitation letter. The invitation letter should contain the following information;
 About the invited person:
 -Name and surname, date of birth, citizenship;
 -Number of identification documents (e.g. passport);
 -Time and purpose of travel, number of entries;
 -Names of under age children that are accompanying the invited person;
 About the inviting person:
 -Name and surname, address and telephone number.

• Proof of relationship (e.g. birth certificate/marriage certificate) to show that the fee should be waived.

• Proof of identity = “personbevis”, from the inviting person. These documents should not be older than three months.

• Application for Schengen visa; (completed in block letters) dated and signed.

• Passport or other travel document, signed and valid for at least three months after scheduled return and copies of its identification page and previous visas and stamps. Copies of all valid passports and old passports should be enclosed

• Domestic passport and copies of all 16 pages it.                           

• Proof (e.g. bank statement, travellers' cheques) of sufficient financial means for your upkeep and for the journey home. The Swedish authorities has decided that you need 40 Euro per day to support yourself during a stay in Sweden. This amount may sometimes be lower if, for instance the applicant is a young child or if you intend to stay with relatives or friends. A letter in which the host in Sweden guarantees that he/she will provide for the visitor, can in some cases be a sufficient proof, provided that the host presents information about his/her income.

• If you are working you need to present a certificate from the current employer stating what you do, how long you have been working there, what your salary is and that you are entitled to vacation. The certificate should contain contact information to the company, the name of the person signing as well as the name of the person signing and his/her signature. If you are a private entrepreneur you need to present the registration certificate for your company and declared income for the company. If you are studying, you need to present a certificate from the institution where you are studying, confirming your status.
