The Embassy is looking for an Administrative and Consular Officer who can replace the present one upon his retirement later this year. The post is open to Egyptian nationals. The holder of this position will be working under the authority of the Ambassador and reporting to the Head of Chancellery.
The main tasks and responsibilities of the Administrative and Consular Officer will be to• Handle administrative and consular affairs of Embassy• Maintain contacts with Egyptian authorities on issues such as security, protocol, administrative and consular affairs• Follow and report on the situation for foreigners in Egypt in terms of security, rules and regulations, local practices• Follow and report on the legal affairs of Egypt on relevant laws such as labour, social and civil status laws• Assist in matters related to Crisis Management and Contingency Planning, where Swedes could be affected• Be in charge of issues related to maintenance of the Embassy property, such as Maintenance Plan, renovation works etc. including supervision of maintenance staff• Translate documents as well as perform qualified interpretations• Follow and report on the Arabic daily press in close cooperation with the Political Counsellor• Be an active member of the staff of the Embassy
Required Qualifications • Advanced University degree • Working experience from an international organisation – governmental or private – in the field of management and administration, or equivalent• Excellent command of Arabic and English (a test will be required)• French is considered an additional merit• Excellent communication skills, in writing as well as in oral presentations• Excellent command of all MS office programs• Proven efficiency and independence in planning and execution of tasks• Ability to manage a large number of tasks and contacts at the same time
