Environment

Project: Capacity Building on Cleaner Production in Hyderabad Region
Objective: Introduce new cleaner production solutions to the Patancheru area to reduce emissions and establish contacts with Swedish technology suppliers
Sida contribution: SEK 3,5
Project period: 2008-2010

Project: Environmental, Health and Safety Management at Industrial Sites
Objective: Knowledge Exchange, Develop good Environmental practices, Establish Indo-Swedish partnership
Sida contribution: 3.5 MSEK
Project period: 2008 - 2010

Project: Sustainable City Development in India; support to the city of Pune and related training programme(s)
Objective: to contribute to sustainability city development in India, with a particular focus on Pune, and thereby help improve the living conditions of the urban poor
Sida contribution: 10 MSEK

Project: Towards institutional sustainability
Objective: Contribute to sustainable development through awareness building and advocacy.
Sida contribution: 35 MSEK

Project: Toxics Free Communities in Development
Objective: Contribute to the development of a toxics free development in India and protection of human health and the environment.
Sida contribution: 4 MSEK

Environmental Facility

Project: Swedish private sector initiative on cooperating for environmental sustainability in India
Objective: Enhance environmental performance across the supply chains of selected product groups that extends from India to Sweden.
Sida contribution: 2.5 MSEK
Project period: 2008-2010
Project partners: International Council of Swedish Industry, (NIR), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).


Project: Developing Small Scale Waste Handling in Village Panchayats
Objective: Empower individuals and groups to participate actively in development process. Assist the Government at local level in waste management.
Sida contribution: 2.5 MSEK
Project period: 2008-2010
Project partners: Sweco, Hand in Hand.

Human Rights and Democracy

Project: Swedish Indian Cooperation to Strengthen Local Governance
Objective: Women elected representatives from the Gram Panchayats to have an independent representational body.  Key decentralisation Stakeholders in Karnataka to have a common platform to promote decentralisation. Strengthen local self governance
Sida contribution: 4.45 MSEK

Project: Expansion and Consolidation of Human Rights Law network
Objective: Improve the human rights situation for vulnerable groups through public interest litigation, advocacy, capacity building and investigations into violations. 
Sida contribution: 17,5 MSEK
Project period: 2003 –2011
Project partners: Human Rights Law Network/Socio-Legal Information Services.

Sexual ad Reproductive Health and Rights

Project: Developing inter-institutional collaboration between institutions in India and Sweden for improving midwifery and emergency obstetric care services in India. 
Objective: Reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity through development of high quality midwifery training and maternal health management and services. 
Sida contribution: 20 MSEK
Project period: 2005-2009
Project partners: Academy of Nursing Services, Trained Nurses Association of India, Society of Midwives in India, the White Ribbon Alliance India, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Karolinska Institutet and Swedish Association of Midwives.

Project: Young People’s Health and Development
Objective: Evolving strategies for optimum health and development of young people
Sida contribution: 46.5 MSEK
Project period: 2003-2009
Project partners: Mamta-RFSU.

Project: Increasing Access to Comprehensive Abortion Care Services in India
Objective: Contribute to the reduction in maternal mortality and morbidity
Sida contribution: 10 MSK
Project period: 2005-2009
Project partners: Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India, FPA India/International Planned Parenthood Federation, Uppsala University, Indian Society of Midwives, Population Council and Ipas.

Project: Integrating social support for reproductive and child health and rights,
Objective: Create an enabling environment for young people’s sexual and reproductive health through gender and rights-based approaches.
Sida contribution: 15 MSEK

Project partners: Tilonia Shodh evam Vikas Sansthan, Vihaan, Vishakha, Family Planning Association of India and Aadhar Research Institute, Sara, Manthan, Humana People to People,  Kumarappa Institute of Gram Swaraj, Prayatna Sansthan and IMCH. 

Project: Developing a multi-sectoral approach model to sustainable health and development through institutional collaboration between India and Sweden
Objective: To make the health system in Loni more effective and responsive to the needs of the people.
Sida contribution: 5 MSEK
Project period: 2005-2009
Project partners: Pravara Medical Trust, Linköping University, Linköping University Hospital, Skövde University and Östergötland County Council.

Project: Legal intervention in HIV/AIDS and related contexts in India
Objective: Minimize the spread of HIV/AIDS while preventing discrimination, through the creation of an enabling and appropriate legal environment in India
Sida contribution: 18 MSEK
Project period: 2003-2009
Project partners: Lawyers Collective HIV/AIDS Unit.

Project: UNAIDS- HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care in North East States of India
Objective: To contribute to the national response in reducing the risk and impact of HIV/AIDS in northeast India.
Sida contribution: 5 MSEK
