Within the Contract-Financed Technical Cooperation, Sida applies the principle of cost-sharing. This means that the Thai partners are requested to bear the local costs associated with the project and the Swedish expert’s work in Thailand; while Sida takes care of the costs in Swedish currency for the experts' fees and cost of fares to and from Thailand. More than 70 projects have been financially supported and completed. A total of 18 projects are still ongoing. The sectors that dominate the cooperation are energy, environment, forestry, management and health care.
Under the International Training Programmes, more than 500 persons from both the public and government sectors in Thailand have participated in training courses in Sweden focusing on industrial development, energy, environment, telecommunication, management and social subjects.
